This nose…

I just want to eat him up. His little Lou Who nose gets me every time.

We’re on a bit of a kick of 2/3 hour feedings during the day, and 4/6 hour feedings at night. Very unpredictable, but ideally I’m asleep for the longer periods. C takes care of Lukas in the evenings so I can get a couple mini naps in starting around 8pm. That was his fussiest time for a while, but things shift all the time. Last night Luke went to sleep after his 9pm feeding and is now up again at 1am. It helps just to live in the moment and not think about when you ‘should’ be asleep or awake.

He’s taken a bottle twice. Which bodes well for future date nights. It’s amazing how many different types of bottles they make. We’ll keep breast feeding as long as is comfortable, but it’s nice to have a touch of flexibility.

Luke’s been consciously smiling for over a week now. It is adorable. He likes to play after his feedings. We lay him on his back on the couch or floor and he follows with his eyes and bats his hands at whatever you wave at him. He’s cooing a lot. Something between a scream and a cry. Sounds better than it seems.

He’s still a loud breather when he’s sleeping – can we call it a snore?
